DNC Electronics the Fanuc BETA specialists!
DNC’s Fanuc AC motor workshop offers a BETA servo motor specialist services. With over 65 beta motors in stock covering 30 years of evolution. Fast reaction to machine breakdowns!
Early BETA servo motors explained:
Early AC motor series that belong to the 6093 BETA servo amplifier units. The design of the earlier 200VAC motors and amplifiers lent to a lot of damage to the amplifiers caused by motor issues. Fortunately at DNC being a BETA servo motor specialist; means we are also a BETA servo amplifier specialist.
Series covered:
- b1/3000 Beta Servo motor – 1NM, 3000 RPM.
- b2/3000 Beta Servo motor – 2NM, 3000 RPM.
- b3/3000 Beta Servo motor – 3NM, 3000 RPM.
- b6/2000 Beta Servo motor – 6NM, 2000 RPM.
Physical differences include straight and tapered shafts, straight with key, 90VDC brake and feedback is either absolute or incremental. Note: Encoders are not a serviceable item and not available seperate!

Matched BETA servo amplifier units:
Quick look at the Beta amps that run these motor series include drives that support PWM interface, as well FSSB and the more complicated I/O link amplifiers. At DNC we can test all of these interfaces with any combination of BETA servo motor. Testing can be offered same day. Warranty on motors is 12 motors.
Please note on occasion BETA series motors can be fitted with ALPHA series servo amplifiers.
Popular motors include: A06B-0031-B077, A06B-0032-B077#7008, A06B-0034-B075
BETA i series servo motors explained:
Later BETA i series AC motor series don’t belong to any particular series as Fanuc expanded both the series of motors and drives across 200VAC and 400VAC high voltage versions. The early amplifiers were all single axis units, the later generation are single, dual and at least three series of combination amps (discussed later).

bi Motor Series covered:
- biS2/4000 Beta i servo motor – 2Nm, 3000RPM, 200VAC.
- b4/4000iS Beta i servo motor – 4Nm, 3000RPM, 200VAC.
- biS8/3000 Beta i servo motor – 8Nm, 2000RPM, 200VAC.
- biS8/3000HV Beta i servo motor – 8Nm, 2000RPM, 400VAC.
- biS22/3000 Beta i servo motor – 22Nm, 3000RPM, 200VAC.
- biS22/2000 Beta i servo motor – 22Nm, 2000RPM, 200VAC.
- biS22/2000HV Beta i servo motor – 22Nm, 2000RPM, 400VAC.
Physical differences include straight and tapered shafts, straight with key, 24VDC brake and 200VAC or 400VAC high voltage rating with all encoders being absolute capable.
BETA i servo amplifier units:
There are tow major types of bi series amps; being biSV and biSVSP the former being either a single or dual channel amp. The latter being a combination amplifier containing two or three servo channels with a spindle amplifier built in. Further there are 200VAC versions and rarer 400VAC versions of drives and bi motors. Interface supported is FSSB and I/O link. Testing can be offered same day.
